Applications
1. Connector and channel: Host end: SFF-8654 (SlimSAS) 8x/74pin. Device side: 2 x SFF-8643 (MiniSAS HD) 4x/36pin. Channel allocation: 8x → 4x+4x (two independent 4i links). Usage: 1 8i port can be expanded to 2 4i ports, and up to 8 SAS/SATA/NVMe hard drives can be connected. 2. Rate and protocol (the third mock examination): SAS: 12 Gbps per lane (SAS 4.0). PCIe/NVMe: 8 GT/s per lane (PCIe 4.0). SATA: 6 Gbps compatible. Total bandwidth: 8 × 12 Gbps=96 Gbps (SAS); 8 × 8 GT/s=64 GT/s (PCIe).
