The BCM957412N4120C is a dual-port 10 Gb/s PCI Express 3.0 x8 network adapter, designed in compliance with the Open Compute Project (OCP) 3.0 specification in a small form factor. It features two SFP+ network connectors and supports both SFP+ optical modules and copper direct-attach cables. The adapter is powered by the BCM57412 25GbE MAC controller, which includes an integrated dual-channel 10GbE SFI transceiver.
Key Features
- The dual-port pluggable media interface supports connections to either a 10G SFP+ optical transceiver or a copper direct-attach cable.
- It is fully compliant with the SFF-8402 standard and adheres to the x8 PCI Express 3.0 specification.
- The interface features SR-IOV with support for up to 128 virtual functions (VFs) and includes Function-Level Reset (FLR) capability.
- It enables virtual network termination for protocols such as VXLAN, NVGRE, Geneve, and GRE encapsulation/decapsulation, along with vSwitch acceleration.
- Additionally, it provides tunnel-aware stateless offloads and supports Data Center Bridging (DCB) features, including PFC, ETS, QCN, and DCBX.
- The interface also supports RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE), Network Controller Sideband Interface (NC-SI), and MCTP over SMBus.
- It integrates PCIe-based UART and KCS interfaces, supports jumbo frames up to 9 KB, and includes advanced congestion avoidance mechanisms.
- Further capabilities include multiqueue, NetQueue, and VMQ support, as well as IPv4 and IPv6 offloads.
