- FastPath SSD performance acceleration for MegaRAID
- The FastPath software for MegaRAID enhances the performance of SSD-based virtual drives by implementing a low-latency I/O path, effectively increasing the maximum I/O per second (IOPS) capacity of the controller. This feature significantly boosts the performance of applications that involve frequent, random data storage access patterns, such as transactional databases.
- Flash cache protection for MegaRAID
- MegaRAID utilizes flash cache protection, which employs NAND flash memory powered by a CacheVault Power Module supercapacitor, to safeguard data stored in the controller cache. This innovative module eliminates the need for traditional lithium-ion batteries typically used to protect DRAM cache memory on PCI RAID controllers. In the event of a power or server failure, the flash cache protection technology transfers the content of the DRAM cache to the NAND flash using power from the offload power module, preventing any potential data loss or corruption. Once power is restored to the RAID controller, the content of the NAND flash is transferred back to the DRAM, which is then to disk.
